Stop Solitary CT

On 11/22/22, the SHAWN team attended the 2022 Stop Solitary CT pre-Thanksgiving rally at Cheshire prison. The rally sought to draw attention to the PROTECT Act, which was passed in 2021, and call for accountability and transparency about its implementation. The law requires that prisons justify, track and limit the use of solitary confinment in CT prison. The group also announced its next campaign to reduce strip searches in CT’s correctional institutions.
