SHAWN is proud to be funded by this NIH R15 mechanism that awards grants to undergraduate teaching institutions, that have not been major recipients of NIH support, to expand the cadre of U.S. scholars who are engaged in health-related research. Specifically, SHAWN is a HIV-specific project supported by the NIH’s National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA).
